What is Rotational Fine Boring?
Rotational fine boring is an essential process, typically used in milling machines, where the tool rotates while the workpiece stays in place. However, when the tool’s length-to-diameter (L/D) ratio exceeds 3, vibrations can become a challenge, requiring specialized vibration-dampening tool holders.
Unlike conventional turning tool holders with straight shanks, our rotational fine boring tools are designed to work seamlessly with milling tool backends. Since these backends can vary, the L/D ratio – and consequently, the vibration frequency – can differ.
Thanks to our STMD technology, our tools adapt to a broader range of vibration frequencies, delivering unmatched precision and reliability.
