Ladies and gentlemen, today we are presenting the world’s smallest vibration-damped turning tool! Ready to ship from MAQ!

Some time ago we got an inquiry from our Partner that got an inquiry from a company with a serious challenge! They needed to do a turning operation inside a hole that is only 10mm in diameter and 80 mm deep. They had tried everything they could find but not even the best (most expensive(?)) carbide bar could get close to the surface finish they needed. Our Partner contacted us, and we decided to take on the challenge. Is it even possible to build such a small damped bar? We put in all our experience, knowledge, and dedication (the MAQ spirit), and together with our Partner, their new customer, and our suppliers we managed!   And when we got started it was actually not possible to stop us from even making it with coolant through. We know that it is critically important to get the chips out and the smaller the hole in the workpiece the bigger the problem. Thanks to our very professional suppliers we got the whole made in the carbide and then it was “only” to assemble the tiny-tiny parts and test the

MAQ STMD M08-120 SCLCR!

Looking at the results of the test we were astonished by how fantastic surface finish the tool produced.
